2021 9% LIHTC Ten Percent Test Submission Extension
The Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) hereby notifies all 2021 9% LIHTC awardees that the Ten Percent Test submission date is formally extended to August 31, 2022.
Second Round 9% LIHTC Adjustments – Hardship Credit Process
Per the 2022-2023 Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP), ADOH has set aside 9% LIHTCs for projects with severe hardships. ADOH will be holding a second hardship credit round in the amount of $500,000 of 2023 hardship credit allocation.

GOVERNOR SIGNS HB2610 PAVING WAY FOR MORE AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Arizona Governor Doug Ducey this week signed HB2610 into law removing the arbitrary cap on the size of affordable housing apartment communities constructed by non-profits wanting to qualify for a property tax exemption. The new law encourages more construction of larger affordable apartment communities across the state that rent solely to income-eligible tenants.

2022 LIHTC and STC Awards Announced
The Arizona Department of Housing (“the Department”) is pleased to announce that it has reserved $30,051,332 in federal tax credits and $2,000,000 in state tax credits for sixteen (16) projects comprised of 1,142 units in the 2022 Low Income Housing Tax Credit round. STATE SETS RECORD FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING TAX CREDIT AWARD DOLLARS
ADOH today announced it has awarded $30.1 million in federal 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) to 16 affordable housing projects, including 7 in rural communities. The all-time record amount comes after a reengineered process of awarding tax credits and implementation of the new State Tax Credit program.
