Frequently Asked Questions about Expedited Plan Review:
Q– Will expedited plan review be available for all types of plans or only FBB manufacturing plans?
A– Expedited services will be available for all types of plans except Compliance Control Manuals, Design Packages, and FBB Reconstruction plans.
Q- Will there be a separate Plan Review and Approval Application for expedited plans?
A– No, the current application will be modified and available 7/1/2013.
Q– If a correction is required on a plan will the seven day turnaround time still apply?
A– No. The seven day turn around can only be achieved if applications, fees, and plans submitted for review are complete and correct. If a correction is required, the clock starts over from the point that the corrections are received.
Q– Will the plan submitter correspond directly with ADOH's third party review contractor?
A– No. All correspondence will be between ADOH and the plan's submitter. ADOH is statutorily responsible for administering the plan review program.
Q– Will approval stamps be applied by the third party contractor or by ADOH?
A– ADOH.
Q– How many copies of plans are required for each expedited submittal?
A– Two minimum.
Q– Are the required expedited checklists available on the ADOH website?
A– Yes.
Q– What will be required in a submittal that references a previously approved Design Package?
A– The third party review agency will require all applicable detail drawings to complete their review. They do not have access to previously approved Design Packages, so, when a submitted plan references design details available in an approved Design Package it will be necessary to include specific details relevant to the submittal from the package with each submittal. It is not necessary to include engineering calculations for details already approved.
Q– If the design plans require the use of two or more engineers, which engineer signs and seals the checklist that is required to be submitted with the plans?
A– Each registrant is required to sign and seal a checklist indicating on the checklist only the items within their respective scope. Each signed and sealed checklist is to be included with the submittal.
Q– Is the engineer who signed and sealed a drawing in the submittal package the same engineer that signs and seals the checklist?
A– Yes.
