5,529 ADOH Financed Rental Units Under Production

Housing ImageThe Arizona Department of Housing is currently involved in financing 5,529 affordable rental units in various stages of production: 2,235 in pre-development, and 3,294 currently under construction or renovation. Of the units in production, 1,083 units are expected to receive Certificates of Occupancy in the next quarter and be ready to receive new renters. Financing for an additional 147 units are also currently under review. One of the projects presently under construction is Urban Living on Fillmore (pictured here), which is being developed by Native American Connections. Located at Fillmore and Second Avenue in downtown Phoenix, this project will provide 63 loft and apartments units for low-income households when it opens in 2019.

Callers often ask us how they can get on a list to rent a unit at one of the projects financed by the Department. Because all of the units are owned and operated privately, we recommend that interested renters contact the entity that is developing the property to ask when and how they can get their name on a waiting list for properties under construction. Developers often start waiting or interest lists far in advance of completion and by the time a property opens, lists can sometimes be very long. The names and locations of rental projects that are being financed by the Department, as well as the company developing the property, can be accessed by consulting the lists of tax credit projects approved by the Department. Download the 2017 Final Allocation List for a list of properties that are expected to be completed by December 2019, and for a list of properties that are expected to be completed by December 2020, download the 2018 LIHTC Reservation List.
