Manufactured Housing & Building Division - Spring 2021

ADOPTED CODE CHANGE

Effective February 1, 2021, the Manufactured Housing & Building Division adopted the 2018 ICC Codes and the 2017 National Electric Code.  New plan submittals have steadily been submitted to the Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) as stakeholders incorporate the new requirements. This change aligns the Manufactured Housing & Building Division’s code requirements with the majority of local jurisdictions across the state. With ADOH permission, an extension may be granted which allows a stakeholder until May 1, 2021 to submit engineered plans that comply with the new code requirements. Download the code change announcement.

NEW DATA MANAGEMENT PLATFORM UNDER DESIGN

A new data management platform for the Manufactured Housing & Building Division is under design with an anticipated kick off later this summer. The new platform will allow the Department to integrate various existing systems into one comprehensive platform which will greatly improve the Department’s ability to issue permits and licenses, as well as streamline inspection processes. This new technology solution is anticipated to enhance productivity capacity and communication between the Department and its stakeholders. More information about the new platform will be available on the Department’s website in the coming months and user tutorials will be available online once the system is live.
