Summer 2021 - Special Needs Division

AZ Balance of State awarded UFA Designation!

We are thrilled to announce that the Arizona Balance of State Continuum of Care (AZBOSCOC) has received the prestigious Unified Funding Agency (UFA) designation. This designation is only granted to very few Collaborative Applicants, less than 20 every year throughout the nation.

Some of the Benefits of the UFA designation include:

  • Creating a single budget for our projects and providing greater flexibility.

  • Provides the ability to move funds across all projects within the grant.

Some Benefits for our Community and Clients:

  • Unused funds can be utilized on different projects based community needs.

  • UFA status impacts all the Balance of State Continuum of Care Projects and the clients served, as it allows more flexibility and collaboration with our communities.

The Arizona Department of Housing is the collaborative applicant for the Arizona Balance of State Continuum of Care (AZBOSCOC), which includes Apache, Cochise, Coconino, Gila Graham, Greenlee, La Paz, Mohave, Navajo, Pinal, Santa Cruz, Yavapai, and Yuma Counties. The AZBOSCOC is responsible for implementation of strategies to end homelessness in its geographic area.
