Desert Willow (formerly Arizona Sun Apartments)

On September 27th, Desert Willow hosted a grand opening event. This project was funded under the General Pool in 2014 with Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and was developed by Thomas Development Company with H4H Development, LLC. A total of 57 units were rehabbed to support 18 units for families with children, serving households with incomes that range from 20 to 60 percent of the area median income.  These apartments in Tempe are being renovated to include housing for families and, more importantly, the creation of 18 three-bedroom units that modify existing two-bedroom inventory.

Desert Willow, through a Resident Services Coordinator, will be offering on-site Before and After School Programming; Computer Lab; Job Training, search assistance and job placement; Credit and Financial Counseling/Education; and Counseling/Support groups. As Desert Willow is located within walking distance of the Arizona State University Tempe campus, two Light Rail line stops, Escalante Multigenerational Community Center, Alegre Park, and the Flora Thew Elementary School this an ideal location for families. The amenities include a community room, common laundry area, tenant services, carports, a playground, and BBQ area, along with a swimming pool.
