Arizona Management System Update - Summer/Fall 2017

AMS Image

The Arizona Department of Housing is entering into year 2 of its Arizona Management System (AMS) deployment. During our first year, we were able to put our problem solving skills to the test by bringing to completion 4 projects that improved performance and outcomes.

One of the projects sought to improve the method by which Manufactured Housing Installation Inspectors complete and submit daily inspection reports while in the field. These efforts have decreased the amount of time it takes to submit these reports and at the same time improved the quality of these reports. With higher quality reports done right the first time, ADOH has improved its performance on audits conducted by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Here, ADOH sought to more efficiently deliver down payment assistance to those in need by simplifying the submission process and improving education and outreach to lenders.

ADOH does a lot of work to ensure the safety of tenants. For this project, ADOH sought to improve the compliance of property management companies who received a letter of deficiencies. Multiple interactions with these properties were required, leading to waste. Check out how much waste we have been able to eliminate.

There are long waiting lists for low-income households in need of subsidized housing. This is why it is crucial that we get the most out of the units that are available by tracking vacancy rates of these properties. Here, ADOH invested time and resources to ensure that more families in need were being helped.
