Grant and Technical Assistance Opportunities

Arizona Community Foundation 
Supports a number of activities in Arizona including community development, anti-poverty, child welfare and housing. Website offers an electronic opportunity for donors and grant seekers to explore funding opportunities.
 
Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Provides grants to organizations and communities to improve public health and access to technology.
Charles Stewart Mott Foundation
Private charitable organization that supports assistance to individuals by strengthening communities. Of particular interest is their "Pathways Out of Poverty" program which support initiatives that foster economic independence. Other areas support community organization capacity. 
Council on Foundations Provides assistance to foundations or those interested in starting foundations and supports research and networking to improve foundation management and effectiveness
Ewing Marion Kaufmann Foundation
Works toward the vision of self-sufficient people in healthy communities by researching and identifying unfulfilled needs of society and to developing, implementing and/or funding breakthrough solutions that have a lasting impact and offer people a choice and hope for the future. The Kauffman Foundation's work is focused on two areas: Youth Development and Entrepreneurial Leadership.

Portal site with many links to private and foundation grants. It includes links to sites that provides tips for applying, donor listings, some ways to monitor government grants and publications covering the grantsmanship arena. 
Grantsmanship Center
Website for TGCI a national training group for grantsmanship. Has an excellent easy-to-use section tracking grant opportunities from the Federal Register.
Habitat for Humanity
A national non-profit group that assists families to build their own homes. The website includes a search engine to find the nearest local Habitat chapter to the zip code you enter. 
Housing Assistance Council
HAC assists in the development of both single- and multi-family homes and promotes homeownership for working low-income rural families through a self-help, "sweat equity" construction method. The Housing Assistance Council offers services to public, nonprofit and private organizations throughout the rural United States. HAC also maintains a special focus on high-need groups and regions: Indian country, the Mississippi Delta, farm workers, the Southwest border colonias and Appalachia.
Just Grants! Arizona
A one-stop site for researching private and foundation grants available in Arizona. It includes listings of consultants who write grants, grant workshops, and a sign-up form for a free e-mail grants newsletter. 
PPEP Microbusiness and Housing Development Corporation
PMHDC is a nonprofit organization offering business and housing loans. The purpose of these loans is to promote community development.
Pew Charitable Trusts
Support nonprofit activities in the areas of culture, education, the environment, health and human services, public policy and religion. 
Rural Community Assistance Corporation - RCAC
This non-profit organization serves western states by providing technical assistance and financing for affordable housing, environmental infrastructure and community facilities. 
Rural Water Association of Arizona
Provides on-site technical assistance to meet the management, operational and regulatory compliance requirements and critical training needs of small municipal and rural public drinking water and wastewater systems in the state of Arizona.
