Rental Assistance & Eviction Prevention Programs

The Arizona Department of Economic Security’s (DES) Emergency Rental Assistance Program is available in the following twelve counties: Apache, Cochise, Coconino, Gila, Graham, Greenlee, La Paz, Navajo, Santa Cruz, Pinal, Mohave and Yavapai. Renters and landlords in those counties can apply for assistance through the DES online portal at: era.azdes.gov. For information about the program’s eligibility requirements and how to apply, visit: des.az.gov/ERAP

Several large counties and cities, including Maricopa County, Pima County and Yuma County, received funding directly from the federal government and have launched their own local rental assistance programs, which are separate from the DES program. To check into resources that may be available in your county, visit the links below.

For an automated way to find the agency that may be able to assist you, use this search tool on the DES portal to direct you to the respective program that serves your area.
