Arizona Public Housing Authority - Section 8
There are two main affordable rental assistance areas in which the Arizona Public Housing Authority (APHA) has knowledge, limited oversight, or may offer assistance: the Housing Choice Voucher Program and Project-Based Rental Assistance.
Community Development and Revitalization
Local communities in Arizona are facing the increasing challenge of balancing future growth while keeping existing housing stock, infrastructure, and community facilities from declining. ADOH is dedicated to helping communities face these challenges through its CDBG and HOME program funding sources, as well as the Weatherization Assistance Program.
Manufactured Housing & Building Division
The Manufactured Housing & Building Division maintains safety standards for all manufactured homes, factory-built buildings, and accessory structures. These standards promote the health, safety and welfare of Arizona citizens and are consistent with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) standards.
Rental Development
The Rental Development Division provides various funding sources to eligible for-profit and non-profit housing developers, including community housing development organizations (CHDO), to assist with developing affordable rental properties.
Rental Compliance & Monitoring
Compliance is the division responsible for monitoring the long-term compliance of ADOH-funded rental properties assisted with Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and/or State Housing Funds (HOME program or Housing Trust Funds).
Rental Asset Management
The Rental Asset Management Division works with property owners to review loan deferral requests, process ownership changes, process qualified contract requests, coordinate work-outs and identify methods to minimize the emergence of troubled properties.
Special Needs Programs
The Special Needs division was developed to enable the agency to address the housing needs of populations that require a more comprehensive approach to housing stability beyond basic, affordable housing opportunities.
Loan Servicing
ADOH's Loan Servicing staff provides services to homeowners who may have a lien recorded against their homes by the Arizona Department of Housing, Arizona Housing Finance Authority, Arizona Department of Commerce, or the Arizona Home Foreclosure Prevention Funding Corporation.
