Office of Manufactured Housing Update - Spring 2017
Arizona’s Office of Manufactured Housing hosted a conference on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for all State Administrative Agencies (SAA) and In Plant Primary Inspection Agencies (IPIA) from Western and Mid Western states on April 11 and 12 at the Sheraton Hotel in Chandler. The two-day conference included presentations on record reviews, inspection of manufacturer service records, consumer complaint handling, monitoring of HUD plants, dispute resolution, installation programs (HUD-administered and state program), and tiny homes. Joni Cage, with the Arizona Department of Housing gave a presentation of consumer complaint trends in Arizona. Director Mike Trailor provided the opening remarks for the session and Assistant Deputy Director Debra Blake provided the welcoming introduction. The conference concluded on Tuesday with a group tour of the Champion Homes manufacturing facility in Chandler and a mobile home park community tour at Brentwood West in Mesa.
