The Arizona Department of Housing was established in 2002 to provide housing and community revitalization to benefit the people of Arizona. The agency provides funding to aid in building stronger communities, with most funding geared toward lower income households and neighborhoods. With the exception of mortgage foreclosure avoidance assistance, first-time homebuyer assistance, and the Section 8 Program in Yavapai County – in which the agency offers assistance directly to the public, the majority of the resources of the agency are passed through in the form of loans, grants, tax credits, mortgage or bond financing, and other subsidies, to its Housing Partners, which are local and tribal governments, public housing authorities, for-profit and nonprofit housing developers, and other organizations engaged in providing affordable housing and other community-related services. With this type of mandate comes enormous responsibility in the area of contract and project management, monitoring, and regulation enforcement.

The majority of the agency’s programs are federally funded and the agency receives no State General Fund support. The agency is also home to the Arizona Housing Finance Authority and the Arizona Home Foreclosure Prevention Funding Corporation.

Our Customer Liaison is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm to assist the general public with housing questions.

ARIZONA SENATE CONFIRMS TOM SIMPLOT AS STATE HOUSING DIRECTOR

The Arizona State Senate today officially confirmed Tom Simplot as the Director for the Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH), citing his numerous achievements since being appointed to the leadership role by Governor Doug Ducey in May 2021.

ADOH Announces $40 Million for Transitional Housing in Rural Communities

The Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) today announced $40 million to provide up to 500 transitional homes for Arizonans in rural communities who are experiencing homelessness.

ADOH announces NOFA HUD 811 PRA

The Arizona Department of Housing is announcing a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for approximately $3,000,499 in project-based rental assistance for up to fifty (50) units funded through Section 811 Project Rental Assistance Program (811 PRA). ADOH LAUNCHES HOMEOWNER ASSISTANCE FUND AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

The Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) launched an advertising campaign to spread the word that financial help is available to struggling Arizona homeowners through the state’s Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF). The print, radio, digital, and social media ads, in  English and Spanish, will concentrate in rural  Arizona and encourage homeowners facing foreclosure to apply for assistance.

State of Arizona HOME-ARP Allocation Plan Public Hearing Video is now available

The Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) has been monitoring the situation regarding COVID-19 and how it affects our business operations. For ADOH, that means understanding how it impacts our employees, residents, owners/agents, and then making the necessary adjustments to our operations.

Our priority is to keep you, your residents and our employees safe. For this reason, we are providing guidance with updates from IRS Notice 2022-05, published January 11, 2022.

IRS Notice 2022-05

Yesterday the Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) received Notice 2022-05 from the Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service. This Notice extend previous relief for the ten percent test for carryover allocations, the 24-month minimum rehabilitation period, the placed-in-service deadline, the reasonable period for restoration or replacement in the event of casualty loss, and agency correction periods. The notice also provides an extension to satisfy occupancy obligations.
