ADOH Welcomes A New Team Member

Chavon Woods joined the Department on September 23, 2019 in the role of Special Needs Program Specialist for the Special Needs Division. Chavon has extensive experience managing projects to address homeless and unstably housed populations in the HIV community. Prior to joining the Department, Chavon was a grants administrator with Maricopa County where she has been employed for 13 years working her way up to Supervisor and Administrator. Chavon holds an MA in Public Administration from Grand Canyon University.

ADOH Promotions

Reginald Givens was promoted to Deputy Director of the Arizona Department of Housing in October 2019. Reginald oversees Legal Services, Human Resources, Procurement, Budget, Finance and Accounting, Loan Servicing, Information, Publications, Information Technology, Facility Management and Fleet. Reginald has been with the Department for over 10 years, serving in various capacities to include coordinating the Your Way Home Program, a temporary Economic Stimulus program financed through HUD; was the Administrator of the Foreclosure Assistance Division from 2010 to 2017; and, served as the Assistant Deputy Director of Operations since 2017.

Greg Cooper was promoted to Assistant Deputy Director, Section 8/Compliance in October 2019. Greg joined the Department in January 2013 and has more than 25 years of experience in business and contract administration, with 13 years of direct experience in federally subsidized - affordable housing. Greg also serves as the Project Based Contract Administrator for the state of Arizona; Administrator of the Arizona Public Housing Authority; and, Compliance Administrator for Low-Income Housing Tax Credit properties in Arizona.

Daniel Boyle was promoted to Community Development & Revitalization (CD&R) Contracts Coordinator in Sept 2019. In this position, Daniel works with the CD&R CDBG/HOME team to coordinate project underwriting review and scoring process for applications, semi-annual labor standards reporting for all of ADOH.

Ryan Vernick of the Special Needs Division was promoted to Continuum of Care Coordinator in July 2019. In this role, Ryan is responsible for the day to day work of coordinating the Balance of State’s Continuum of Care processes and working with Local Coalitions to End Homelessness in the 13 rural counties in Arizona.

Ryan Paris of the Manufactured Housing & Building Division was promoted to Installation Services Agreement (ISA) Liaison in August 2019. In this role, Ryan oversees the ISA relationships the Department has throughout the state to include oversight, training and the appropriate expansion of these relationships.

Karina Jajou has transferred to a new position at the Arizona Department of Housing and now serves as the Rental Programs Administrative Assistant with the Rental Programs Division. Karina has 10 years of progressively responsible experience performing administrative job duties and most recently served as a Compliance Officer with the Department's Section 8/Compliance Division.

Organizational Updates

The Manufactured Housing Division is now the Manufactured Housing & Building Division to better represent the building and construction component the Department regulates.

Tara Brunetti’s title has changed from Assistant Deputy Director/Manufactured Housing to Assistant Deputy Director/Manufactured Housing & Building.

Andrew Rael’s title has changed from Assistant Deputy Director/Programs to Assistant Deputy Director/Housing & Community Development.

Employee of the Quarter for the 3rd Quarter of 2019

Esperanza Espi Padilla, is being honored as Arizona Department of Housing’s Employee of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2019. As the Administrative Services Officer, Manufactured Housing & Building Division, Espi is a team player that brings creative solutions to her work and consistently carries out her duties without compromising high standards. In addition to her regular duties, in August and September 2019, Espi provided exceptional support to the Mortgage Assistance Division where she facilitated the aggregation of extensive program documentation required in preparation of a Treasury Compliance Review visit.
