Continuum of Care (COC) Funding Announcement

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced on February 6, 2019 the 2018 Continuum of Care funding awards. The Arizona Balance of State Continuum of Care (AZBOSCOC) covering the 13 rural counties in the state was awarded over $4 million. The awards cover all renewals, a planning grant and a reallocation for a Coordinated Entry Hotline in the four counties without a Local Coalition to End Homelessness. Those counties include, Santa Cruz, Graham, Greenlee and Gila.  

The Continuum of Care program is designed to promote community-wide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness and provides funding to quickly rehouse homeless individuals, youth, and families, while linking them to needed resources to improve their financial situation, health and optimize self-sufficiency. 

These grants help us in ending homelessness and provide critically needed support to those on the front lines who serve individuals and families experiencing homelessness in our rural counties.  Every day our sub-recipients are working miracles assisting households and in many of our rural counties, these may be the only resources available to address homelessness.

Thank you Point in Time Count Volunteers

Thank you to the hundreds of volunteers across Arizona who participated in the Arizona Balance of State Continuum of Care (AZBoSCoC) 2019 Point in Time (PIT) count in January. There were 298 volunteers from homeless provider agencies, governmental organizations, local colleges, faith based groups, veterans’ service providers and local community members across the State involved in conducting face to face surveys with people they encountered across all 13 counties in the balance of State.  This is the most volunteers we’ve had participate! Thank you for your commitment in making everyone count!
