FEATURED GROUNDBREAKINGS AND GRAND OPENINGS AROUND THE STATE
The Arizona Department of Housing is currently committed to or actively involved in financing 3,814 affordable rental units, in various stages of production: 717 new commitments, 970 in pre-development, and 2,127 currently under construction or renovation. Of the 2,127 in production, 813 units are expected to receive Certificates of Occupancy in the next quarter and be ready to receive new renters.

El Rancho Del Sol - Mesa
On November 7th Community Development Partners celebrated the grand opening of El Rancho Del Sol in Mesa. The ribbon cutting ceremony included speakers Mayor John Giles from the City of Mesa, Deputy Director Thomas Barr, from Local First Arizona, as well as our Director, Carol Ditmore. El Rancho Del Sol provides affordable housing with programming intended to enhance the lives of residents and engage the neighborhood. El Rancho Del Sol consists of 47 units serving low-income households and designed to serve families with children.
Yavapai-Apache Homes V - Camp Verde
Yavapai-Apache Homes V is Phase I of a larger two-phase development, funded in 2015, and has constructed new homes and one community building on the Yavapai-Apache Nation Reservation in Camp Verde. Yavapai-Apache Homes VI is Phase II, funded in 2016, and constructed new homes, a public park, and one small community building. YANTH currently maintains a waiting list of about 100 households in need of housing. The community center held its grand opening in December.
Aeroterra Community Center Phase VI - Phoenix
On October 19th the Grand Opening for Aeroterra Community Center, which is Phase VI of the Aeroterra project took place. The Community Center will help implement a strong Community and Supportive Services (CSS) program, contribute to the improvement of the surrounding neighborhood, and build sustainable communities with high quality, well designed, multi-generational and mixed income housing. The first phase included 60 units for seniors and/or disabled residents. Phases II and III include 130 units for families. There are units set aside for families experiencing homelessness with a preference for veterans. Phase V, included an additional 60 units and will be constructed in the middle of the property, around the community center.
