CONGRESSIONAL TAX REFORM EFFORTS
It has been a very busy quarter at our Nation’s Capitol. In December, Federal Tax Reform made it to the President’s desk for signature. As the bills moved through the House and Senate, the affordable housing industry worked overtime, lobbying for the retention of low-income housing tax credits and private-activity bonds, both crucial tools utilized in every state to develop and preserve affordable rental units. As for the Federal Budget, Continuing Resolutions appear to be the standard for the near future.

ADOH PREPARES FOR ANOTHER STATE LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Looking forward to the next state legislative session, which begins on January 8, the Arizona Department of Housing has been meeting with State legislators to introduce the Department’s new director, Carol Ditmore, and to provide information on the work of the agency. The Department does not plan to introduce any legislation this coming session.
The Department looks forward to hearing Governor Doug Ducey's State of the State Address scheduled to take place on January 8.
