The Homeless Continuum of Care Corner - Fall 2018
2018 ARIZONA BALANCE OF STATE CONTINUUM OF CARE NOTICE OF FUNDS AVAILABLE
The 2018 Arizona Balance of State Continuum of Care Notice of Funds Available was submitted and accepted by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on Saturday September 15th, three days prior to the final HUD deadline of Tuesday, September 18th. The Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) applied for over $4.5 million in funding including renewal funding, bonus funding for additional Permanent Supportive Housing units in Yavapai County, expanded coordinated entry capacity, and a Domestic Violence Bonus Project covering multiple northern counties. ADOH will be providing a debrief at the next Quarterly Local Coalition to End Homelessness (LCEH) Leads and Stakeholders Meeting held in conjunction with the Arizona Coalition to End Homelessness Conference November 14-15, 2018.
Although ADOH wears all the hats for the Continuum of Care as the Collaborative Applicant, Homeless Management Information Systems Lead and HUD Grantee, this is a team effort. Without applicants, Board members and other state partners who review applications, provide feedback and assist with finalizing priority, scoring and ranking decisions, the submission would not be successful. The local leads of the LCEH provide invaluable data for the overall application process (ex: Public Housing Authority, Local Participation, counts, etc.).
Everyone in our continuum serving people, operating housing, outreaching, collaborating, getting income, doing data entry, recruiting volunteers and all the thousands of activities that are measured, reported on and evaluated in the NOFA process, make a difference in the lives of those we serve as we work to end homelessness in the Arizona Balance of State.
