The Grand Re-Opening of the Historic Westward Ho
The Arizona Department of Housing was thrilled to be involved in the ceremonies celebrating the Grand Re-Opening of the Historic Westward Ho. Director Trailor was invited to speak at the event along with Phoenix City Councilman Nowakowski, a representative from Senator Jeff Flake’s office and Jonathan Bentz.
The Director took this opportunity to speak about the importance of maintaining the safe affordable housing stock throughout the state. He also took the opportunity to highlight the Arizona Management System and the effect it has had on eliminating waste and making Arizona the best place to live, work, play, recreate, retire, visit, do business and get an education. The Westward Ho arguably accomplishes all of those things as it provides a safe place to live for about 289 elderly and disabled residents, jobs in both restoration and maintenance, a partnership with Arizona State University and a conference room available to the public in order to conduct business.
