ADOH WELCOMES NEW TEAM MEMBERS!
Rebecca (Becky) Batista joined the Department’s Section 8/Compliance division as a Housing Compliance Officer on August 1. Ms. Batista came to the Department with more than seven years of experience in affordable rental property site management, including properties financed with Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development. She has most recently been the Site Manager of Cobre Village Apartments in Globe.
Daniel Boyle joined the Department’s Community Development & Revitalization division as a Program Specialist on August 18. Mr. Boyle was most recently been a Program Manager with A New Leaf, managing its weatherization program, as well as handling housing rehabilitation funded through CDBG, HOME, and other federal sources. Mr. Boyle has also worked in the construction industry and served in the U.S. Navy. He attended Chandler Gilbert Community College and is currently studying business at Northern Arizona University.
Troy Cheesman joined the Department on August 29 in the role of Section 8/Compliance Division Specialist. Mr. Cheesman came to us from Mercy Housing where he worked since 2008, most recently serving as a Senior Property Manager for one of their LIHTC/HOME funded properties located in Gilbert. Prior to joining Mercy Housing his work related experience included working in various capacities providing residential services in apartments and institutional settings. Mr. Cheesman holds a Bachelor of Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati, and holds various certifications pertinent to the affordable housing industry, including Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) and Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP).
Michele Frazier joined the Department on August 29 in the role of a Specialist in the Section 8/Compliance Division. Ms. Frazier previously worked for Dunlap & Magee Property Management since 2012, most recently serving as a Compliance Officer in their Corporate Office. Ms. Frazier comes to us with over 16 years of professional property management experience, with the majority of her experience working in affordable property management in the state of Arkansas. Ms. Frazier holds two Associate degrees, in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems, and holds a Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) certification.
Guy Kanute joined the Department’s Manufactured Housing Division on September 26 in the role of an Installation Inspector. Mr. Kanute worked as a Licensed Contractor since 2002 and for 17 years prior to that worked as a production manager for a company that provided custom doors, windows, and other products for the construction industry.
Bernard Maxfield joined the Department in the position of Information Technology Specialist on October 11. Mr. Maxfield most recently worked as a Technical Support Specialist at Stericycle, a private company located in Scottsdale. He has worked in the information technology sector since 2009.
Joshua (Josh) Tucker joined the Department as the agency’s Legislative Liaison/Public Information Officer on August 15. Mr. Tucker was previously the Legislative Liaison for the Arizona Department of Child Safety. Other prior positions within State government have included Legislative Liaison at the Arizona Department of Economic Security and Project Specialist in the office of Governor Janice K. Brewer. He also holds a B.S. in Political Science from Arizona State University and served in the United States Marine Corps from 2003 to 2009.
