Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) held a public meeting on October 28, 2019 to receive input on the five-year 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan and Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing. The 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan establishes goals and objectives, and the method of distribution for approximately $100 million in the following federal funds over the next five years: National Housing Trust Fund, Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships, Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS, and Emergency Solutions Grant programs. The purpose of this funding is to benefit low income and special needs populations, primarily in the non-metropolitan areas of Arizona.

Twenty-two participants attended the public meeting in October, representing a broad range of interests from local governments to non-profit organizations. Martina Kuehl of Kuehl Enterprises, LLC facilitated the meeting and gathered input from participants about the needs specific to their respective communities. Based on the demographic research and the input received from the public, ADOH will produce a first draft of the five-year plan and make it available for comment in April 2020 when a second meeting will take place to receive additional citizen input. The 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan is expected to be completed in May 2020 when it will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for approval.
